Hello everyone, and welcome back to the NCFDC blog!
Recent media exposure for the OSEB program
On August 17th, 2010, the Globe and Mail featured the story of an Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program graduate (Susan Ho, Toronto) who turned her tea-infused cookie recipes into a high-end gourmet biscuit company (Turning Tea Into Dollars / in THINKING BIG, by Naomi Carniol). After getting “a lift” from the business plan program, Susan Ho’s Tea Aura products are now carried by 240 stores.
This fall, the Northumberland CFDC will be carrying on an annual tradition of showcasing our own home-grown success stories at our fall business networking event in Cobourg (November 3rd, 4-6pm). The official announcement is coming soon – stay tuned.
About the OSEB Program
The primary objective of this innovative Employment Ontario program is to assist new entrepreneurs in creating jobs for themselves, and potentially others, through self employment. Working toward self-sufficiency, participants in the Ontario Self Employment Benefit (OSEB) program receive income support, business plan writing assistance, and ongoing counseling over a 42 week period.
